the lilac bush

The lilac bush is a lot of things. Purple, fragrant, deciduous, deep green leaves that oppositely line the stems, & rightfully crowned “queen of the shrubs”.

The lilac bush, a symbol of renewal because they bloom early in the spring. Lilac’s have a century-long life span, meaning there’s a chance they outlive the gardener who planted them.

The lilac bush, nostalgic and iconic. Reminds me of my grandparents.
